What do you think about the slogan below for a protest banner?  

What other slogans do you think are effective and forceful for our upcoming demonstrations against China?

I like the design and the spirit of this banner, but I think you should be aware of the reality of this dispute. There are Taiwan, Philippine, Brunei, and Malaysia claiming Spratly islands. By saying these islands belong to Vietnam, might be very "sexy" and arousing support from majority Vietnamese, it might deceive people from the reality of this dispute. More than that, it might turn the other countries in the dispute to stand together with China against Vietnam. This is not what we want to happen as we know that Vietnam alone can not resolve this issue and absolutely unable to confront China directly. We need to ally ourself with other Southeast Asian Countries in order to counter China's aggression.

I agree. It wouldn't look inviting to our future allies. Simply make China look bad. That's enough.

What we have to balance is the strategy of getting the best results vs. the feeling of Vietnamese people that the islands do really belong to them. Recently, I did a survey on my blog on whether Vietnam should share sovereingty over the Spratly islands with other Southeast Asian countries, and I found out virtually everyone who responded said. "NO". Of course, no one said VN should share with China.

The other thing is we have to separate the islands. Paracel islands is more simple. It is Vietnam's. No other SEA country claims it. So we can say "Paracel Is." belong to VN without hesitance. The problem is more complicated by far in Spratly. So if you have different stances on different islands, maybe you have to write different slogans for each.
